PLEASE BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR CENTRE ISLAND IN THE MORNING. MAM students will want to bring things for CENTRE ISLAND & BALLROOM if you do not have time to go back during the day.  Check the packing list in the handbook.

Dean's Breakfast (7:45AM - 10:00AM)

Enjoy a hot breakfast in the beautiful Burwash Hall (89 Charles Street West, Toronto) while listening to speeches from the Dean of Medicine, Faculty members, and inspirational guest speakers.

Note:Buses will be leaving UTM at 6:10AM

Academic Orientation Part 2 (10:15AM - 12:45PM)

After breakfast, you will head over with the rest of your classmates back to 3153 in MSB to hear more about the exciting things that first year has to offer for you. Today you will here all about the Integrated Clinical Experience, Portfolio, and learn about everything you need to help make sure you’re 100% ready-to-go for the first week of school. You will also get a really cool opportunity to hear from a panel of medical students and residents from U of T who are here to share their wisdom on topics such as balancing school and life, staying healthy, managing stress, social life in Toronto, and where to turn for help when you need it.

Lunch (12:45PM - 1:40PM)

It's lunch! Food is the best.

Dress Code: Opportunity to change for activities in the afternoon during lunch hour

 

Transportation to Centre Island (1:40PM - 2:30PM)

Meet back at MSB for 1:40PM SHARP where you will be led by 1T9 volunteers to the Queen's Park subway station to make your way to the ferries to Centre Island! Don't dilly dally around MSB after lunch and get to the subway as quickly as possible, since we won't all make it onto one ferry.

Dress Code: Casual (sportswear/comfortable)

 

Academy Olympics on Centre Island (2:30PM - 5:30PM)

Welcome to the first of many academy challenges for the year! Duke it out in different competitions amongst your classmates to earn points for your academy. The reigning champs of the academy challenge from 2012 to 2016 was PB... Can they pull it off again or will the coveted title be seized from them? Bring a soccer ball, volleyball, or frisbee to pass the time as you wish while we wait for everyone to get there!

Dress Code: Casual (sportswear/comfortable)

 

Night Out at The Ballroom (7:00pm - 12:00am)

Join us for hors d’oeuvres and drinks on the patio at 145 John Street, Toronto! While you’re here, enjoy a few games of ping pong, foosball, pool, or bubble hockey with one of your new friends! If you're feeling extra competitive, 10-pin bowling lanes are available for rent downstairs. Orbital Groove, our very own medical school band, will be tearing up the Ballroom's live stage!

Note: Buses will be returning to UTM at 11:00PM and 12:00AM.
